Coronavirus (COVID-19) statement

In response to the recent global attention focused on the new coronavirus from China (2019-nCoV), Corporate Floors and it's family of brands, APEX Surface Care and Texas Carpet Recycling, would like to reassure our clients that the product used in our infection control services is consistent with the Environmental Protection Agency’s emerging pathogen policy. According to the EPA, the emerging pathogen policy is now in effect, which means that if a disinfectant has a kill claim against a similar virus, it is suitable for disinfection against the emerging pathogen.

As an organization, our team's safety and well begin is our foremost concern.  With that, we also have implemented the following actions:

  • We have begun monitoring our team’s and subcontractors’ overseas travel. Any team member or subcontractor who travels to China or any surrounding country will be required to report such travel and remain out of the office and away from client sites for 14 days after arriving in the United States.
  • We have increased the frequency with which we sanitize our own offices.
  • We have implemented a voluntary work from home program for all staff employees in all offices.
  • We have restricted all non-mission critical domestic and international travel.
  • All group meetings have been moved to a virtual setting. Fortunately, three years ago APEX set up Google Meet video conferencing in all locations.
  • We are educating our team members on basic protective measures against the new virus as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO).  In addition, team members are in the process of receiving proper PPE equipment relative to the type of service they are performing and will be disposing of any related cleaning supplies in an appropriate manner.
    • It's important to note that the advantage of the ES application process used in our infection control services is that our employees are not directly contacting any work surfaces with rags, hands or other physical objects. The electrostatic spray envelopes all objects completely, ensuring complete coverage with minimal exposure.
  • Team members who exhibit flu-like symptoms are asked to leave the office and not return without clearance from a doctor.

Below is a recap of the CDC’s publication on preventing the spread of coronavirus, which we also encourage our team members to follow.

There is currently no vaccine to prevent 2019-nCoV infection. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
